Reading a Cask Profile: ABV, Bulk Litres, LOA and Fill
A useful cask profile identifies whisky type, distillery or permitted naming description, distillation year, cask number, cask type, current bulk litres and ABV. LOA—litres of alcohol—is approximately bulk litres multiplied by ABV as a decimal and helps compare the amount of pure alcohol present.
A bottle estimate depends on target bottling strength, losses, sampling and packaging assumptions; it is not a guaranteed yield or retail outcome. Fill history should distinguish first fill, refill, full-term maturation and finishing. Ask for the measurement date because cask data changes.
Key ideas

LOA estimates pure alcohol, not bottle profit.
